W Cosmetics expands to regional Victoria

Asian beauty retailer W Cosmetics is expanding its Australian bricks-and-mortar presence with a new store at Westfield Geelong, its first regional Victorian location outside metropolitan Melbourne. The store will be located on Level 1 of Westfield Geelong, near Cotton On, with an opening date yet to be announced.
The move brings W Cosmetics’ extensive assortment of Korean and Asian beauty brands to a new regional market, as the retailer continues to grow its physical footprint across Australia. Its offering spans skincare, makeup, haircare, and wellness, with brands including Medicube, Torriden, Anua, Beauty of Joseon, SKIN1004, Dr.G, and Round Lab, alongside makeup names such as rom&nd, Clio, Peripera, and Judydoll.
Expansion Across Australia
The Geelong announcement follows a particularly active period of bricks-and-mortar expansion for W Cosmetics. In Victoria, the retailer opened at Westfield Southland in June, followed by Pacific Epping in July. Its Westfield Fountain Gate store also reopened in July following a relocation to a refreshed space with more room for its expanding Asian beauty assortment.
The expansion has extended well beyond Victoria, with W Cosmetics opening at Lakeside Joondalup in Western Australia in July and Bankstown Central in Sydney in August, while a new Westfield Penrith store followed later that month. Westfield now lists W Cosmetics locations across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, and the ACT, including Bondi Junction, Sydney, Parramatta, Miranda, Doncaster, Southland, Fountain Gate, Knox, Chermside, Carousel, and Whitford City.
K-Beauty in Regional Victoria
The Geelong opening is particularly notable because it takes W Cosmetics beyond metropolitan Melbourne and into regional Victoria. It also places the specialist retailer alongside some of Australia’s biggest beauty players, including MECCA, Myer, and Chemist Warehouse, as well as L’Occitane and Results Laser Clinic.

For consumers, W Cosmetics provides physical access to products and brands whose popularity has often been accelerated through social media and online beauty communities. The retailer’s recent store openings show that it is increasingly translating that digital discovery into a physical retail proposition, with stores built around Korean, Japanese, and Chinese skincare, makeup, haircare, and wellness products.
As specialist Asian beauty retail becomes increasingly visible within major Australian shopping centers, W Cosmetics’ first move into regional Victoria suggests the category’s physical retail opportunity is beginning to extend beyond the capital cities. This expansion may indicate a growing demand for K-beauty and Asian beauty products in regional areas, potentially driven by the increasing popularity of these products among Australian consumers.
W Cosmetics’ own online assortment now extends to thousands of products across categories including skincare, makeup, body care, haircare, beauty tools, and wellness. The move into Geelong therefore represents more than another addition to the retailer’s store network, as it may pave the way for further expansion into regional areas. Notably, the retailer’s Pacific Epping location showcases hundreds of products from established and emerging Asian beauty brands, demonstrating the breadth of its product range.
For Australia’s beauty retail sector, Geelong could offer an interesting test of just how far the K-beauty and wider Asian beauty boom can travel. The success of W Cosmetics in regional Victoria may encourage other retailers to explore similar expansion opportunities, potentially leading to increased competition and growth in the beauty retail market.
