Pinterest spots rise of ultra-personalized beauty trends - personalized beauty trends
Searches for ‘polka-dot cat-eye nails’ surged 1,585% and ‘jelly pink chrome nails’ rose 1,469% in Pinterest’s 2026 beauty report.

Pinterest’s annual beauty report reveals autumn 2026 will center on highly individualised aesthetics, moving beyond broad trends. Users increasingly seek out specialised shades, textures, and combinations that express personal style, with nail art, hair colour, and makeup all evolving toward distinctive yet bold expressions.

Nail trends feature striking contrasts and food-inspired themes. Searches for “polka-dot cat-eye nails” climbed by 1,585%, while “jelly pink chrome nails” rose 1,469% and “milky white chrome nails almond” increased 1,402%. Darker options like “goth cat-eye nails” (+911%) and “dark red cat-eye nails design” (+735%) point to a demand for edgier designs. Café and fruit motifs, such as “caramel nude nails” (+943%) and “raspberry jelly nails” (+828%), expand earlier food-based beauty trends into manicure choices.

Hair colour trends favour deeper, layered hues. Searches for “cherry-cola brunette hair” surged 788%, alongside “mocha balayage” (+949%) and “oxidised copper hair” (+517%). Pink remains popular but in selective ways, with “dark pink peekaboo hair” (+481%) and “pink hair stripe” (+463%) showing preference for subtle accents. Haircut styles emphasise texture and movement, with “long layered bob haircuts” (+622%) and “French bob with wispy bangs” (+394%) leading the charge.

Makeup directions split between sharp, icy tones and softer romantic styles. Interest in “frosted makeup” jumped 286%, alongside “metallic lips” (+52%) and “silver eyeliner makeup” (+48%). Blush preferences lean toward dusty rose, terracotta, and peach, each up by 148-189%. Meanwhile, “cloud skin” (+153%) and “soft natural makeup looks” (+105%) reflect a growing interest in diffused, low-maintenance finishes, balancing drama with ease.

The push toward customisation extends beyond visual trends. Pinterest’s data indicates users now rely on the platform more than other sources for beauty inspiration, with 85% of weekly users reporting they discover new ideas there first. The platform’s ability to highlight current trends, rather than recycled classics, appears stronger, as 64% say it excels at presenting fresh concepts.

Fragrance and skincare trends emphasise sensory comfort and intentional routines. Searches for “marshmallow perfume” (+248%) and “milky perfume” (+134%) continue dessert-inspired themes, while “skin scent” (+287%) and “solid perfume aesthetic” (+333%) show a preference for understated scents. Bodycare searches highlight targeted treatments, with “body wash for glowing skin” (+206%) and “retinol body lotion” (+144%) leading. Even scalp care gains attention, as “scalp detox” searches rose 21%.
